October 24th, 2007Cash Luna - How To Increase My Ability - 1 of 3
Many of us tend to go, but I can’t do anything, yet God has given us the ability to do something. Today, I want to speak to about 4 abilities that I believe you have.
1) Ability to believe:
Rom 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.”
The first one is the ability to believe. The measure God’s given you, isn’t just to believe in Him, but also to believe in your own self. We read hear how he urges us to think of ourselves, yet not more highly than we ought, but according to the measure of faith, He’s given us. One should deem himself in faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. In other words, when I think of myself, I should do it in relation to what I can one day obtain, and not according to what I already have. Not to what I already am, but what I one day will be. This is how you must learn to think of yourself.
In other words, how much time do you put in to thinking on someone else, and how much do you put in to thinking about yourself. Even people who claim to not believe, actually do. By saying they don’t believe, they’re actually confirming their belief in something else. God gave us the ability to believe, but all too often we don’t use it in what we should. Today I could tell you that Jesus died on the cross for you to heal all your diseases, but you might go that your case is much to hard. See, you’re using your ability to believe, but to believe in your ailment and not your healing. Notwithstanding, you’re believing in something, though not the right thing.
If God’s given us the ability to believe, why then are we going to believe in something bad when we could focus that energy into believing something good? Faith has much power. If you believe that something bad is going to happen to you, than that’s probably what you’ll get. You’ll either believe the devil’s threats, or you’ll believe God’s blessings. Choose now what you’ll rest your faith in. Don’t decide whether or not you have faith, but what you’ll choose to believe on. You could choose not to believe the Word of God, that’s your decision but everything within it is good and helpful for a good life. It’s up to you whether to believe or not, but regardless of the decision, you’ll still be empolying your faith.
For example, the word “amen” means “so be it.” So where is it fit to be used? Whenever someone says something that you agree it should be that way. If I say, be healed, than that’s where a “so be it” fits quite well. The “so be it” also fits in events or things that are to happen. You can’t be saying “amen” to things you don’t want happening to you. I believe with you for many things. I believe your family can be saved, but I can’t believe stronger than you, because we’re talking about your family. If I preach something, but you don’t agree with it, than it’s simply not going to happen. Two or more need to believe for things to take place. You have the ability to believe, use it! Believing causes those things that aren’t seen, to appear. Believing is powerful!
Each time you get something new by faith, the reward really isn’t what you got, but the growth in faith you obtained. Your character increased. Having believed for something and being a believer isn’t the same thing. Being a believer is someone who continually believes for something. There’s nothing worse than inactive faith. Believe in something, already! By becoming a believer, you automatically turn into a person of faith, and not just into a person that got things thru faith.
2) Ability to wait:
Hebrews 6:11-12 “And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
What’s the point in having the ability to believe, if you lack the ability to wait for that which you’ve asked? Today I’m going to show you, just how much you really believe in something. You only believe as strongly in something, as the time you’re willing to wait for it. The time you wait for it, tells me how strongly you believe. You’re only willing to believe in something, as far as you’re willing to wait for it to come to pass. He that quickly believes that things aren’t for him, than that’ll be the case. For example, single folks go through life believing for their mate, they train up, go to school, go to college, pray, fast, work out, get ready in every area, only to grow desperate and marry the first person that gives them some attention. Your inability to wait, ruined your ability to believe.
Believe God, and wait for Him to bring to pass. If you have the ability to believe, then you also need the ability to wait. If you use your ability to believe, and you add to it your ability to wait, what’ll be the outcome? You’ll gain more faith, more stature, more character, further transformation. When God sets your heart to believe on something, He’s actually seeking to transform you. A passive life doesn’t transform anyone.
One day I was talking with my wife, and I told her if anyone wants to stop being poor, than they need to stop doing things that poor people do. You can’t stop being it, by continuing to do what everyone else does. If anyone wants a large, growing ministry than they need to stop doing things that hinder their growth. If you truly want an anointed life, than you need to stop doing things that others who continually lose the anoiting or that haven’t even found it, do. Just being a servant of God, won’t suffice for everything to go well. One time I ran out of gas, I had to get out and push the car. Well it wasn’t actually me, but brother Guillermo Maldonado who was riding with me. What a shame! Just picture this: We were driving back from Antigua Guatemala, just talking and I totally missed the gas light blinking. All of sudden, on a main street, right in rush-hour, on the right lane, we were headed for church ‘cause it was his turn to minister and the car dies out on me. It’s an automatic, Mercedes Benz, with no gas,….with pastors that are on TV. Can you imagine that? So, I go: “Well, one of us have got to push.” You had to be there.
Being servants of God, doesn’t automatically immune us from stuff happening. I ran out of gas, because of negligence and not having put some in before. In like manner, we many times confuse things in God’s work. We think that just because we serve Him, we have no right to bad things happening to us. Well, that’s not the case, as servants of God, we have the responsibility to work harder and better. Don’t be confused. God doesn’t bless you because you’re His servant, but He blesses you for serving well.
The best things come with time.
